Delete a project

Permanently remove a project from the organization when you no longer need its Platform data—SBOMs, Builds, vulnerabilities, and related records.

Only organization admins can delete or unconfigure a project. Deletion cannot be undone.

Delete from Project Settings → Advanced

  1. Open the project.
  2. Open Settings → Advanced.
  3. Under Project Actions → Delete Project, start delete and confirm in the dialog (type delete-project when prompted).

After a successful delete, the Platform sends you back to the organization Projects list. The project no longer appears there.

What is removed

  • The Platform project and cascaded data (including SBOMs, Builds, and detected vulnerabilities).
  • For GitLab-connected projects, the Platform also tears down the GitLab integration for that repository (webhook and CI variables; and the OAuth-minted project access token when one exists). Organization-wide Maintainer API tokens are not revoked.
  • For GitHub-connected projects, Platform data for that repository is removed. The GitHub App installation on your GitHub organization or account is unchanged—uninstall or adjust repository access from GitHub if you no longer want the App on that repo.

For organizations that authenticate to GitLab with OAuth, delete may send you through GitLab consent first (same as configuring projects). Finish that step, then confirm delete again if the Platform returns you to Advanced settings.

Delete by configuring with no features

Organization admins can also permanently delete projects on Settings → Integrations → GitLab or GitHub by selecting repositories (or groups) and submitting with no Identify, Protect, or Monitor features. The Platform warns that this permanently deletes the selected projects; confirm in the dialog and the submit control becomes Delete Projects. See Unconfigure a GitLab project and Remove a GitHub project.

This path does not apply to Generic projects—creating or editing a Generic project with Identify off does not delete anything. Use Settings → Advanced to delete a Generic project.
